Three things to note during Aircon Servicing

1. Fragile swing flap.

When doing Sanyo Aircon servicing, one must take note that it could be a very old Aircon model. Hence some plastic parts can be extremely fragile. One such example is the swing flap. The swing flap that rotates left and right may be subjected to wear and tear. However careful Sanyo Aircon servicing goes a long way in protecting the life span of these Sanyo Aircon spare parts.

2. Lack of Sanyo Aircon spare parts.

Before you call an Aircon technician down for Sanyo Aircon spare parts. You may wish to let them know if there are any issues with your unit. As there are no new Sanyo Aircon spare parts available. So if an indoor unit is experiencing any problem. You may wish to check if they have relevant parts first before coming down for Aircon repair.

3. They should have experience in servicing non inverter Aircon unit.

Most of Sanyo Aircon units are non inverter Aircon units. The Sanyo Aircon servicing technician that you engage in should be relatively proficient in serving Non inverter Aircon units. As most of the Aircon these days are inverter units. They may not be aware that a generic spare parts can fix a Sanyo condenser unit instead. An inexperienced aircon technician may suggest to change the entire Aircon system instead. Which may be a lot more costly than a Sanyo Aircon repair.

We have made our fair share of errors and mistakes while servicing thousands of Sanyo Aircon units throughout the years. However we pool together our knowledge from our various Aircon technicians and our knowledge of Sanyo Aircon servicing has improved throughout the tear. Sanyo Aircon Servicing FAQ

Is Sanyo aircon good?

Like many other brands, Sanyo’s air conditioning units have powerful cooling capacity, several wind modes, and other outstanding features. The brand is known for its cheap price and competent lineup of air conditioners.

Can you still buy Sanyo aircon spare parts?

How do you clean a Sanyo aircon?

1. Turn off the air conditioner

Before opening the air conditioner, it is important to make sure it is turned off. Check the instructions to see how exactly you can remove your specific filters and open the front panel of the air conditioner.

2. Check the status of the filters

Use protective gloves when cleaning the filters. When you remove the filters, check their condition. If you notice that the netting has holes, it means that you have to replace them with new ones.

3. Clean the surface with a vacuum cleaner

One of the most important things about maintaining the good condition of the filters is regular vacuuming and dust cleaning. Use a vacuum cleaner without a brush, because it can damage the netting. Clean the filter well from top to bottom in its length. If you have pets, you may need to do this several times to make sure you have cleaned the net of all the hair. When using the vacuum cleaner, do not press too hard, as you can tear the filter.

4. Soak the filter in water

Once you have finished vacuuming and made sure that the netting is well cleaned of dust, you can proceed with washing the filter. To do this, fill the tub with water or a container large enough, and the water must be at room temperature. Pour a simple liquid detergent in the water and place the filter in the bath or container, making sure you have fully submerged it. Move the filter several times back and forth in the soap solution and allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes.

To remove dirt, do not use brushes or other rough tools to avoid damaging the filter. We recommend that you use a hose, as it will allow you to clean all waste and dirt well. Continue to clean the filter with a hose until the water flows clean on the other side.

5. Spray the filter with a homemade solution

To destroy bacteria, you can prepare a mixture that is effective enough at home. Make a solution by adding vinegar and water in a spray bottle in a one-to-one ratio. Spray the filter with the solution and allow it to disinfect well for about ten minutes. Then rinse the filter under running water.

6. Dry the filter well

It is important to dry the air filter outside to make sure that any moisture has been removed. You can put newspapers on the ground under the filter and lean it against the wall. After about three hours, the filter should be completely dry and then you can install it again in your air conditioner.

What is the best way to maintain Sanyo aircon?

Regularly maintained and well-cleaned air conditioning is an effective air conditioner, but more often than not, you might not have the time or energy to engage in such a tedious procedure. If you do not wish to spend hours reading and testing various tips, you can trust the professional services  to help you settle this chore. Here at Silverback Aircon, we have a team of professional air conditioning technicians who can quickly and efficiently perform the prevention of your air conditioning system.

How often should I service my Sanyo aircon?

It is known that Singapore is a rainy country, with perpectual humidity. Humidity combined with heat makes the aircon work harder than usual. In such conditions, it is recommended by professionals that your aircon is serviced every 3 to 4 months.

Is air conditioner servicing even important?

You may think that aircon servicing is expensive, and unnecessary since your air conditioners are still functioning normally. However, every unit works for hours at a time, and you are more likely than not unaware of how much dust actually accumulates on your air con components. Dust accumulation occurs on critical areas of filters, condenser coil, and evaporator coil. Avoiding air conditioning service means losing cooling capacity, cooling speed, and increased power consumption. As the saying goes, a stitch in time saves nine, if you do regularly service your air conditioners, you may save yourself much more hassle in the long term.
