Midea is a well-known name in the aircon industry, produces a wide range of air conditioner units. They offer a large variety of residential air con units such as split, window, portable and de-humidifier air conditioners.
It has reliable air con performance and the brand has consistently developed and produced quality products focused on durability, performance, energy efficiency and eco-friendliness. Their units are also cheaper and more affordable as compared to several other brands.
Midea air conditioners might be incompatible with some licensed aircon service and repair centers.
1. Turn off the air conditioner
Before opening the air conditioner, it is important to make sure it is turned off. Check the instructions to see how exactly you can remove your specific filters and open the front panel of the air conditioner.
2. Check the status of the filters
Use protective gloves when cleaning the filters. When you remove the filters, check their condition. If you notice that the netting has holes, it means that you have to replace them with new ones.
3. Clean the surface with a vacuum cleaner
One of the most important things about Midea Aircon servicing is maintaining good condition of the filters. You can do so by regular vacuuming and dust cleaning. Use a vacuum cleaner without a brush, because it can damage the netting. Clean the filter well from top to bottom in its length. If you have pets, you may need to do this several times to make sure you have cleaned the net of all the hair. When using the vacuum cleaner, do not press too hard, as you can tear the filter.
4. Soak the filter in water
Make sure that the netting is well cleaned of dust before with washing the filter. To do this, fill the tub with water or a container large enough, and the water must be at room temperature. Pour a simple liquid detergent in the water and place the filter in the bath or container, making sure you have fully submerged it. Move the filter several times back and forth in the soap solution and allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes.
To remove dirt, do not use brushes or other rough tools to avoid damaging the filter. We recommend that you use a hose, as it will allow you to clean all waste and dirt well. Continue to clean the filter with a hose until the water flows clean on the other side.
5. Spray the filter with a homemade solution
To destroy bacteria, you can prepare a mixture that is effective enough at home. Make a solution by adding vinegar and water in a spray bottle in a one-to-one ratio. Spray the filter with the solution and allow it to disinfect well for about ten minutes. Then rinse the filter under running water.
6. Dry the filter well
It is important to dry the air filter outside to make sure that any moisture has been removed. You can put newspapers on the ground under the filter and lean it against the wall. After about three hours, the filter should be completely dry and then you can install it again in your air conditioner.
Depending on the series of the air conditioner, the self cleaning mode can be activated automatically when the air conditioner is turned off. The fan will continue to work for another 10 – 20 minutes, ventilating and drying the heat exchanger. It can also be activated forcibly from the remote control.
Regularly maintained and well-cleaned air conditioning is an effective air conditioner, but more often than not, you might not have the time or energy to engage in such a tedious procedure. If you do not wish to spend hours reading and testing various tips, you can trust the professional services to help you settle this chore. It is known that Singapore is a rainy country, with perpetual humidity. Humidity combined with heat makes the aircon work harder than usual. In such conditions, it is recommended by professionals that your aircon is serviced every 3 to 4 months.
You may think that Midea aircon servicing is unnecessary since your air conditioners are still functioning normally. However, every unit works for hours at a time. And you are unaware of how much dust actually accumulates on your aircon components. Dust accumulation occurs on critical areas of filters, condenser coil, and evaporator coil. Avoiding air conditioning service means losing cooling capacity and increasing power consumption. As the saying goes, a stitch in time saves nine, if you do regularly service your air conditioners, you may save yourself much more hassle in the long term.
